6) Before proceeding, make sure the wick is resting all the way into the water channel,
(see diagram). Refer to the CARE AND MAINTENANCE Section for instructions on
removing the wick for cleaning and service.
7) Some models feature a two-stage air filter which attaches to the inside of the inlet
grille area and cleans the air, as it provides humidity. Refer to the CARE AND
MAINTENANCE Section for instructions on installing and removing the two stage
air cleaning filter.
8) Take the water bottle to a sink, laundry basin, or bath tub. Use care in handling the
water bottle. Do not drop the bottle. It will break. Turn bottle upside down and
remove screw cap.
Empty any remaining water in bottle,
rinse the bottle thoroughly and wipe
clean with a cloth before adding fresh
water.
9) To add water, place a soft cloth in sink
and place the bottle on it. Turn on the
cold water tap and steady the bottle
while filling. The bottle holds 1 3/4 gal-
lons. Do not over fill. When full, place it
carefully on a protected flat surface and
wipe it dry with a dry soft cloth. Replace
the screw cap and tighten securely. Using
both hands, carry the bottle to the humidi-
fier.
10) Return the bottle to its upright position
using the handles on the top of the bottle.
Slowly set the bottle in the recessed area,
the top of the bottle flush with the top of
the humidifier.
11) When positioned properly, the valve will
open and water will flow into the water
channel. The water level will automatical-
ly remain at the height of the pin in the water channel until the water bottle is
empty.
12) Extend the power cord and inspect it for any damage. Do not use the product if the
cord has been damaged. Plug the cord into a polarized 120-volt AC outlet.
13) Adjust the speed control on the right to the desired position. You will feel cool and
invisible humid air exiting from the outlet grille. The outlet grille is louvered and may
be rotated 360 degrees to direct the airflow where you want it.
Caution: Under certain conditions, cold objects in the room, such as win-
dows and outside walls, may cause moisture to condense. Severe conden-
sation on window sills and walls may result in water damage. When these
conditions exist, a lower speed setting is recommended. Note: The unit will
not shut off when the bottle is empty; however, this will not damage the
humidifier.
